Histiocytoma?
Question: I am asking this question for a friend. Can anybody shed some light on this problem? Thanks! Heather and her 3 Golden Girls About 6 weeks ago, we noticed a small wart-like bump on the snout of our 5 year old golden. the vet diagnosed this as a histiocytoma and indicated that it should disappear on its own within a few months. he also indicated that these are typically and more often than not non-cancerous tumours. it has almost disappeared and is almost completely flat now. however, i noticed a new one 2 days ago that appeared to have grown overnight. it looks a little agitated with a bit of blood but it doesn't seem to be bothering her. this one is higher up on her snout and closer to her eye. does anybody have any experience with these and how bad can i expect it to get before it gets better? Answer: I never heard of this until it mentioned a few times on my pit bull board, as it seems that breed is prone to this. Apparently, they do usually go away on their own. Your friend should take her dog back to the vet if this is occuring (sudden growth, blood, etc) as it could be malignant! Histiocytoma Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
