Meeting Mommy

Question:
Hey guys... it's me again with the sick bullpuppy. So I called the breeder and he said that if there's anything wrong with her that he'll give us a refund, but there's no way I'm going to give my baby back. She seems to be getting better, still occassionally snotting/coughing, more so in the mornings and evenings. So I arranged with the breeder to see the mama dog today because I didn't see her when I picked up the puppy. (She was at a friend's house). This breeder that I found in the paper breeds English and French bulldogs. When I went to their house, there were two dogs outside (one English, one French bullie). The English one was a dog from a previous litter. The puppy was the only dog in the house until their friend showed up with another dog (I think it was half chiuhuaua, half Jack Russell). Is there anything I should look for in the house and the mama dog when I go there tonight??

Answer:
Take your camera and take pictures!

Look for over crowding in cages, lack of space to exercise / play

Adult dogs in with small pups, dog cowaring into cages. Soiled and uncleaned cages. Look to see if any infection in the eyes or any dogs look lethargic, in pain and such. Be friendly, don't let on what you're doing in any suspicious manner. Marvel how wonderful you think things are blah blah...so they let their guard down. Go on and on about the house. ...so she shows u around to the rooms you just may not have seen before asking.

Ask about stupid things like do you like the neighbourhood we were gonna move here yada yada stuff, whats the square footage of the home do you have any basement leaks, ever consider selling.?? Do u mind if I see the yard and the bsmt. Say u've been home shopping or something

Sneaky but works

Answer:
When I went the first time, the puppy was running around a huge living room with hardwood floors. Very clean. I didnt't see any cages, but the breeder did tell me her heaving might be due to her accidently swallowing some litter gravel (I don't know what they're called - those paper/wood flakes). Also, I was planning on bringing my puppy with me so she could see her mama. Is that a good idea?

Answer:
NO don't take the pup back you can expose it to who knows what from a poor environment. AND when you leave purel/sanitize your hands take your clothes off and wash them before handling your pup.

There should be nursing boxes with heat lamps for the pups. Ask her where they are?
