Does she love me?
Question: How can I get my 11 week bullpuppy to be more affectionate to humans? She's teething so she mostly bites people (not aggressively) and plays with her toys, but she's not very affectionate towards people. She doesn't ever come up to me and lick me nor does she ever wag her tail unless she's around other dogs. I even stick my hand out in front of her, but she'll just bite it. I've had her for two weeks... will time make her more loving? The other puppies I encounter are always jumping on people and wagging their tails. Answer: Have you had her vet checked? Are you sure there is no medical reason that she would be acting like this? If there isn't then more time, patience, and loving is probably the key. Answer: It's been my experience that puppies become more loving as they settle down. At first, they are like little kids in just wanting to play, play, play. I love that time in the morning when they wake up and are so cuddly! Answer: I have never had a puppy but i adopted 2 cats (11 years and 9 years) about 3 months ago. At first the 11 years old was always growling at me and everytime I tried to pet her, she turned her head getting ready to scratch and bite me. After about 1 1/2 months of petting (my response time from danger is so much faster than before thanks to her), she finally lets me pet, carry and kiss her. So love and patience are the best thing you can do now. Answer: My advice would be to get some high-quality bonding time with him! Zeus is almost 12 weeks and he is already a big suck! I can give you advice based on what I did/do with him. Now if your pup is anything like Zeus, he will almost never stay still unless he’s about to pass out. At night I take him out for his last walk, he comes in, drinks some water, walks around, bites a few things then he settles down in the living room. I’ll keep an eye on him for a while and once I see that he’s finished for the night, I’ll get up and walk to my room telling him to follow me. Once in my room Zeus will find a place to lie down. I’ll go and sit right next to him and I’ll start petting him. At this point he’s SO sleepy that I can do anything to him! I whisper, praise, smile, kiss, massage, and even play with his paws while he lies down. Then I place him in his crate and we both go to sleep. Now I suggest you try this with your pup. After a few nights try doing it when he’s taking his day time naps. If he gets rowdy then just leave him be and try doing at night. Do remember that you have only had your pup for 2 weeks…and although it may feel like an extended period of time - it is only 14 days! Hang in there, and remember that consistency is key. Animals know when they are cared for and they do appreciate it thus your pup will also realize that and will come around. Answer: yes ypur puppy does love you and in its own way is trying to play with you I calll this behaviour bite play. I broke rosie of this by picking her up all the time and carrying her you will learn how to pick up puppy without getting bit after a few times when the pet totally calms down and snuggaly time is over then put him down with fresh food and water. He will soon get the picture . Keep a chew toy I use a stuffed star around your neck at all times and cookie (big one) in your pocket this will help stop the biting and the pup is still with you and both are happy Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
