Question:
I have a 2 year old male rat terrier. Up till 3 days ago was energetic. He began coughing, then having watery emesis. Was drinking water excessively but not eating. After he drank, within a hour, he had an emesis. He has been very quiet, is urinating. No bowel movement since day 1 of illness. His nose is cool and moist. He turns his head at all food. Occasionally he will yelp out as if in some pain. Today he began hiding behind things, and under things. He will come to you when called, and still wag his tail. There are no poisons in the house, and when he is outside, he is under 1-1 supervision. He is a big chewer, maybe a blockage???? Chewed up something completely and I didn't find any evidence of this. He is up to date on all shots. Was hopeing to get an oppinion before I took him to the vet in the morning. That is if I can find one on saturday. We live in city area and vets are hard to find on a saturday for treatment. Thanks for your help.
