any advice for rosie??
Question: rosie just seems to get better than another biggy happens. rosie was dianosed with loose tendons in both of her front wrists. tonight while playing I noticed her walking on the sides of both front feet sideways and her wrists were almost ontop of her feet. she seems in fine spirits and already has a vet apt in am any one else ever deal with this?? could this be a result of her bones fusing together??or a bone deformiity?? I know only xrays can tell for sure but anyone else ever deal with this?? after this what could possibly be next?? Answer: Oh Rosie baby!! Well, feel the legs and see if there is any heat coming off of them (unusual amount of heat) Assuming there is no fracture and maybe some inflammation...you can try some ice to cool the area. If ligaments are torn they may try support bandaging. I'm not sure what to say until you get Rosie to the vets but this you really need to update us on. Poor Rosie (hugs) Answer: no heat and this has been a slow progressive thing will be looked after in a couple of hours her apt is at 715 am Answer: Did they give you any massage therapy or physical therapy suggestions for this at all? Answer: Luba has a good idea- can you tape them in the meantime so she doesn't do any further damage by walking on the sides of her feet? My heart is breaking for you and Rosie. Such troubles in so short a time! I'm very sorry :( Answer: I'm holding my breath. I never had any experience with anything like this. Poor little Rosie. God placed her in your care for a reason. He knew you'd see she had good care and an abundance of love. Answer: Chewing nails here........how is she how is she... Answer: rosie went for her appt this morning, her legs are taped she is having x-rays tommow the want to evaluate the splints first. she is up and walking around sort of and will probably have to get a satellite if she starts chewing on them. but she is in geed spirits I may not know what I am dealing with but weve done alright so far, she is aplmost potty trained the bite play has almost stopped thanks for every thing Answer: Luba- didn't you know of a spray that could be sprayed on the bandage/splint that tastes bad, rather than using a satellite? Thank you for the update! I wonder what is causing this? I hope Rosie isn't too uncomfortable. Poor little baby. Answer: I don't know of a spray but I know of a cream it's called Veriton http://www.doctorsolve.com/detail.as...name=V&ID=3088 Answer: Maybe "bitters" could also be used. When I was bartending I once took some home to put on my shoes lol. Stopped my dog, Kiva (God rest her), from stealing them- she didn't want them in her mouth after that lol. Answer: just to update everyone on rosie. she is having both front end wrists surgically broken saterday. her x-rays showed that her bones had fused together and have to be separated for her to develop normally. she still has her splints on and is getting around just fine with them. I had to spray them with bitter apple stuff from my local pet store so that i would not have to put my 3 pound pug in a kitten sattelite. she just weighed in at 3 pounds whoo hoo. she was a very sick little puppy. she still has her parasite though the yellow egg one and is on her second dose of medicine for it. this parasite must be gone and she has to be drug free for at least 2 days before they will do her surgery. her own immune system must kick in and destroy this papsite along with a helping hand with the medication. the vet does not want to do anything with her that would cause her body more distress than what is absolutely needed..ie surgery thanks anyone else ever had to go through this surgery i would love to know about it from an owners point of view Answer: Oh Lord, that dog is going through so much. I'm very sorry. I don't have any experience with this. Maybe starting a new thread will get you more responses. My heart goes out to both of you. Answer: Wish I had something to offer! I feel for this sweet little puppy who has gone through so much. I'm constantly amazed at what vets are able to do. You're to be commended for how you've stuck by her. My heart just goes out to both of you. :( Answer: Here some (((((hugs))))))) and some speedy recovery vibes. I hope she heals well and you don't have to see the vet for awhile. Answer: Ditto, lots of hugs for you and little Pug... Answer: I hope everything works out well for you and Rosie it is so sad for puppies to have such a hard start in life I know how you feel and how afraid you can be. I am going through the worry with Blaze too. :( not the joint problem but his mange. I am sorry I missed other threads about Rosie have you had Rosie since 8weeks? Answer: Oh my! How awful! Good luck to you and Rosie. Answer: Well ortho surgery for dogs has come a very long way Having had a dog gone through very extensive ortho surgeries I know how great they can be. I'm sure Rosie will be just fine sending her some pats and hugs. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
