Help...Infection?
Question: My dog has a problem with her ear. I noticed last night that she was scratching it like crazy, when I took a look there was a little cut and other red bumps. She has had an ear infection before, but when that happened her whole ear looked red. I tried to put antiseptic in her ear, but it stung her, and she won't let me take a good look at it now, and I haven't been able to put in more drops. ( She's 80 pounds, so it's difficult!) I can't get into my vet for another several days.....Could this be something else other than an infection? Is it dangerous to have to wait that long? Other than her ear, she is her normal self, eating and playing etc. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!! Answer: Id try sticking some more drops in there while she is sleeping... out cold, that might be your best bet until you get the chance to go to the vet. Answer: Thanks, My friend took her into his Vet today. Turned out she had a yeast infection in her ear canal. Now I get to have fun trying to put cream in her ear with an applicator. Should be fun!! :-) Answer: Ah! Do you know how she got the yeast infection?? I just like to get all the info I can.. so I know what to look out for with my puppy! Glad she's on her way to getting better!! Answer: I'm not sure! She has floppy "lab ears" so I guess it is quite easy for dirt to get in them. I check her ears on a regular basis, three days before she started scratching they were fine! It did seem to irritate her more than a regular ear infection. Poor puppy! Answer: Alrighty! Hope she gets better soon! Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
