Hi Folks,
Our cat recently had his left eye removed due to a tumor (which did metastisize. SP?) and about a month after, he pretty much stopped eating and drinking - we noticed that his tongue hangs to the right and the Vet confirmed this, but had nothing else to say besides taking him to a neurologist and also having an MRI done, neither of which we can afford right now or any time in the near future for that matter. We both fear that the cancer has spread and is causing this problem, but are not so sure.
Basically, it seems as though his tongue has stopped working - when he goes to drink, he just stands over the water bowl and *tries* to drink, but to no avail. Once in a while he does get his tongue out and gets a few slurps. He eats very little and only when we ball up his food, so he can grab it. He does act normal otherwise - he plays and purrs and terrorizes our other cat as usual.
We feed him his favorite foods so eats a bit more, but he is dropping weight and we also give him water through an eye dropper, which he of course hates.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen to their cat or other pet.
