My Dog

Question:
I have a Rott-shepard hes about 8 months and somthing is wrong with him! on his belly he has a rash, all over mostly in circle type dimension some not that look welted, this I dont have a clue about It irritates him I can see hes always biting at it, My opinion it looks like a type of ring worm, he is also NOt eating and drinkin very little surelly not what he usually does I am very concerned with this as to where I had a Chocolate Lab that aquired Parvo and died! This is my baby and it would jus kill me to have something happen to him... He is in the house all the time except to go lounge in the yard or go pee..No he hasn't had his shots yet which also concerns me..only beccause I have serious money issues not because I dont love him! But any information on what you think is goin on would be appriciated. Do you think this could be parvo again??? I hope it cant happen twice! any input would be thanked

Answer:
Bring him to the vet!!

Answer:
That is soooo easily said but when u dont have 5 dollars let alone 60 to 80 to see a vet they wont even look at the dog and there are NO free clinics that I know of here
I'm in Pa Mercer County

Answer:
I have also been doing some reading and come across a site www.Parvaid.com says it will cure Parvo does anyone know if this is true?? fast responses please

Answer:
Cindy, call your vet and talk to them about your situation. A lot of vets will let you work out a payment plan. If your particular vet doesn't want to, then call others in your area. The local SPCA might be able to help you, too. Good luck.

The treatment costs $38USD plus s/h (another ~$15USD) so you're looking at $53USD total, not including any applicable taxes where you live. And you don't have the money to take your dog to the vet (which might cost $30-40 for the initial visit) to at least find out what the problem is for sure??

Answer:
If you don't have the money, but want to care for your pet, talk to the vet. Chances are the vet may offer to let you make payments. Offer to sign something promising to pay a certain monthly fee. The vet may see that you have good intentions and really care about your dog, and may help you out. It doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm not jumping on your back or anything, but if your other dog died of Parvo it may be a good posibility that your current dog has it too. The Parvo virus can live dormant through a mild winter. So, if you've not vaccinated your dog, chances are he could get very sick, if he isn't already.

A friend of mine also didn't get her dog vaccinated (or her children) and the dog contracted Parvo from being in the back yard. Thier previous dog died from Parvo and the virus survived 3 winters to infect thier new dog. She was rather lazy, so she relied on the dog getting it's exercise from running around the back yard. So there's no possibility that the Parvo came from her walking the dog.

Find some way to do it, but get your dog looked at. Or you may find yourself in mourning again. Good luck.

Answer:
If you get a potentially fatal illness, you wouldn't go to a doctor either?
