Need Help with a chihuahua

Question:
Our Chihuahua was bitten or stung by something. His left eye was very swollen and through the night he became hyper not being able to stand still. By morning he was twitching his back legs. We brought him to the vet and he injected him with two shots of steriods. The swelling of the eye is pretty much gone but both his back legs are still bothering him. It's as if they are getting a charlie horse, he will try to put both legs up while sitting or kick his legs. I thought it was his pads but now I can't tell. The vet said he should be feeling better almost right away but it doesn't appear to be helping.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Answer:
Have you called the vet back and talked to him about this?

Answer:
I can almost bet that the problem with the legs is from the injections! These are very tiny dogs and the vet has to be really, really careful as to the size and position of needles. It probably hit a nerve or something. I would call your vet and let them know your problem. There may or may not be anything you can do about it, except maybe some pain medication.

This exact problem happened with my sister-in-laws chi. Was bit during the night and whole face swelled up. It took a month for her to be back to normal. She developed ear infections immediately from the bite and then was allergic to the antiobiotics. Terrible mess!

Call your vet and go back for another visit. They shouldn't charge you at all for being concerned about its legs.
