lab paws inflamed

Question:
My lab mix has been licking his paws (the webbed part) and they are red. Any home remedies, or is this antibiotic time? What causes this? We live in the wooded mountains; wet and moldy.

Answer:
Sounds like allergies, dogs can be sensitive to mold and yeasts. So yep, off to the vet. It could get infected without treatment.

Answer:
Allergies probably or even some fungus from water.

Submerge the feet in epsom salt water bath, rinse and dry between the toes very good. Then put some corn starch (just a little) between each toe.

Give that a try see if it helps

After you go hiking or dog is in creek or something swimming you should always clean their ears and toes if prone to allergies/infection.
