Just A Little Curiousity
Question: Hi I have two dogs, both are golden retriever. Though the one I am questioning about is our youngest and we believe she's mix of golden and some small type of dog like weener dog (for the fact she still hasn't gotten any taller just longer). she's about 2 years old i believe. today out of no where she stopped breathing, began to shake, couldn't barely walk(could move but would fall ), and very wide eyes. We thought she was chocking so we tried to prevent it the best we knew how--nothing came out of her throat, but after a 5 or so mins she slowly began to breath out her nose and then slightly out her mouth then was panting and moving around as if nothing happened. She may have been chocking but i just want to make sure there is nothing more internally wrong with my dog.. I don't know much about animals so your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Answer: Do you think that it could of been a seizure? Answer: sound like a seizure to me as weel..My big dog gets that way as well a couple of times a week, talk to your vet, depending on the severity could mean medication to help control them or just to let the spells pass. You will know if they are getting worse, the dog will urinate and possibley deficated during a big one. All we do is clear the area of the floor where she falls and reassure her, if your dog is diagnosed with seizures you will notice a slight change in attitude before hand, like wanting to be alone, staring at nothing decreased appetite all before the seizure my dog has them at various times during the day, it all depends on her. some believe they only happen at night Answer: Yes,it definetly sounds like a seizure, but don't worry,if severe it can be treated succesfully. Seizure can also indicate other problems,so a vetvisit is important. My cat had a seizure shortly after his vaccinations and never again. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
