i have a 10 year old cross yorkie who has always been good using the toilet and never messed in the house.she was generally in good health but a little overweight,so our vet put her on a diet of boiled chicken and rice.she eats very well but just recently has had poo problems.one minute she has constipation the next she has a very soft yellow poo with a jelly like substance in it which seems to catch her out.she drinks normally and has very little tit bits.do any of you know what the cause may be?

How long have you been feeding the chicken and rice? This is something that should be fed VERY short term, for stomach upsets.

In no way is this a nutritionally complete diet and should never be used long term.

Dogs get overweight for the same reason we do - not enough exercise and too much food - so you should be feeding your dog a nutritionally complete food and giving her more exercise.
