Question:
My boy was throwing up daily. I had taken him to a vet and they had said he had tonsillitis and his larynx was very irritated. They had him on antibiiotics for a while and he did not seem to get better after 10 days. I took him back and they changed his meds and put him on a different antibiotic and cough syrup. That seemed to help, but only for a couple of days. I took him back yet again and they put him on a med for bile production, something to calm his stomach, and a steroid. That didn't seem to help either. The vets can't figure out what's wrong and said that his prognosis wasn't good. they wanted to do a $450.00 test and get a specialist in. To get him in it would cost $1000.00, after that it would go up depending on what he had to do. They indirectly siad I will have to put him down! He's only 2 years old! They basically said good luck and sent me on my way. I had spent almost $400.00 on exams and medications, and I wasn't going to give up so easily. I am now giving him 300g of cimitidine (which is my medication for my stomach, he was on a very low dose of it before) and a 1/3 of a Claritin pill a day. He is doing alot better. He can breathe better and he's rarely getting sick. Hopefully that will do it!

Keep in mind that it never hurts to get a second opinion........if you can afford one.
