discolored coat

Question:
my dogs coat is starting to turn green on her legs and rear. What is that caused from?

Answer:
What kind of dog? How old? What kind of hair (long/short/clipped)? Where does she spend her days? How often do you bathe her? How long has this been going on?

Answer:
My guess would be from the grass. Especially after it is cut, the color can come out very prominent in dogs on their legs, paws, tail and butt. Could this be it?

Sorry, my theory was way off base! Thats terrible what this poor dog has been through in its short life already. I don't have any suggestions, other may. Best of luck with her, I hope she is feeling better soon. That was alot of weight to lose!

Answer:
Possibly the vet can tell you what is going on? Having just treated this dog so recently, he probably could say over the phone if it's something to be expected because of meds (?) or if he needs to see him. Poor puppy. Did you find out what caused the intestinal problems?

Answer:
I'm thinking if you've bathed her a lot, then the coat may have been stripped of natural oils. then again, it could also be her previous illness which has caused this. Her diet could be a possibility.
What breed is she?
I use baby wipes and occasional baths to keep Tally (westie) clean and soft. She also smells nice.
You could also visit a professional groomer, who may be able to tell you if she has some kind of skin problem.
It's a shame what she's been through, :( and I hope she's better soon.
