Hello,
Every so often, my 2 1/2 year old golden starts to do this cowering thing where he looks like he is hearing things. He has his tail between his legs while he walks really low to the ground. He heads right under the car, or his head on the blanket with those sad eyes. He continues to look over his shoulder like he hears something. This happens for a couple of days and then the next day he will be fine. This past week he did this for 3 days was fine for 3 and now it has started again. I am to call my vet tomorrow. I'm thinking an ear infection. Any ideas?

Check with the vet first..to rule out anything medical.

Here is a theory;
There may be something "spooking" him. He may hear/
smell/see something that triggers him back to a moment
when he had reason to be fearful...(maybe, before you got him).
