Question:
My boston terriers just had a small litter of three large pups. We had to c-section the mother for the birth, unfortunately. Upon inspection of the three pups, I found one with normal markings, nothing unusual about it, except it was born with no tail. The parents are great - lineage, health, no problems with any other litters. There is just no tail - no stub, like normal. Just a smooth hindquarters. Is this a problem? I've never even heard of this. Thanks for any input.

It's either got the genes to be bob tailed, or has a spinal defomity like spinabifida. If the pup makes it a few more weeks totally problem free it's probably bob tail genetics, if you begin to see problems between now and about 4 weeks old it is probably a spinal problem.
