We have a 4 yr old shih tzu who is 8 months post op after planned hysterectomy. She seems to have formed a red pustule in the area where one of her stitches was. Why would this be happening now? Is it possible that the site has still not healed? How should we treat it? It's about the size of an eraser head and then red around that. Someone please help!

Yes it is possible that the scar site did not heal properly. The red pustule seems to be an indication that an infection may be starting on the site.

Get some antibiotics from a vet.
