Hello there--I have a 3 yr old long hair male cat- I have noticed Coey (my cat) has alittle black mark on his gums up front of his center smile--does anyone know what it could be?

It's hard to say without seeing it...BUT it could just be a birthmark...as simple as that.

If it does not look infected, or is changing in any way, then maybe just to be safe, the next time the cat goes to see a vet, ask the question....

It definitely needs to be seen to be given a 100% diagnosis.
