three days in the hospital...and counting - HELP!
Question: Hello all, I am writing to see if anyone can offer any information that might help my dog (and our family). Our 5 year old English Bull Dog has been in the hospital since Monday - making minimal progress. Here is the deal so far: - constipated - low protein levels - normal x-ray results - normal ultrasound results (except for a "thickening of bowel tissue") - unable to tollerate/hold down any food - keeping hydrated through IV liquids - constant panting / difficulty breathing - weight gain (10 lbs over the past 3 months) The vets think that it might be either Addison's disease or Cushing's disease, but after doing some research I am not so sure. Based on her history, I am thinking it may be a bowel obstruction. Has anyone seen anything like this - or can you offer any recommendations/thoughts? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Emma's mom Answer: Have you contacted the breeder they might know if it is something that bullies are predisposed too, it might help to rule things out as well I am thinking second opinion from another vet might also be another way to go. They should have some kind of answers or a clue by now. I hope your baby comes out of this fine Answer: Emma's mom I feel for you. This must be so hard. To not only have her in the hospital but to not know why... would drive me buggy. My prayers are with you & a ((hug)) for your sweetie. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
