Question:
My cocker spaniel is having puppies for the first time and so are we.could someone please tell me the first sign that she is ready.i came home from work this morning and she is panting really hard.sometimes having a hard time staying still.she is also whining.it comes and it goes.i let her outside and she tryed to dig a hole in the corner of the house and layed in it.we are new at this to .so any help would be greatly appreciated.

This board is made up mostly of people who do rescue work and are all but fanatical about responsible breeding and spaying or neutering. Very few of us have birthed any puppies.

If you don't have a mentor to help you through this - then you need to call your vet.

Don't risk the life of the mom or the puppies by guessing what is going on with her.Hopefully they will all be fine
