Question:
Has anyone ever given their dog melatonin?
I have a severly storm phobic dog, who has shown a bit of improvement with disensitization and homeopathic anxiety remedies, but still basically has full on panic attacks during storms, which seem to have become a daily occurance.
So in a search to find something else to help, I keep finding info on melatonin and it's use in noise sensitive and storm phobic dogs. I've talked to my vet who does not know of any side effects, but is also not familiar with it's use in dogs. I can't find any mention of serious side effects, but none the less, would love to get other people's thoughts.

I don't know anything about it, honestly, but maybe if you call a holistic vet they could give you the uses and things over the phone? There is a holistic vet that pops in here every now and then, so maybe just hope he sees this thread....
