older dog issues???
Question: hello, I am a newbie to this board. i have a 12 yr. old husky/chow cross female, Sage who is in pretty good shape. She has arthritis but other than a bit of stiffness and circling before lying down, doesn't do badly. She has been having some redness around the area that she pees and seems to be " leaking a tiny" bit of fluid occasionally. We are taking her in to get checked out tomorrow and I am wondering if any of you have had similar symptoms and what questions to be asking my vet about this. The liquid that leaks a bit seems darker than regular urine. We have checked anal glands and they are fine. She is fed a combo raw diet and innova evo, fyi! Thanks for your help. Kimmee and Sage! Answer: I don't know a whole lot about things like that but it sounds like it could be a urinary tract infection. The vet will be able to tell though and if it's a UTI he can give you some medication to clear it up. I hope it's nothing too serious , good luck. Answer: thanks for the quick response...I was kinda thinking that also! I'll post the details when we get back from doc's in the morning, Kimmee Answer: My older girl had two UTI's when she was about 12. She had never had one before and she got two in a matter of a few months. I noticed because she was asking to go out often and I saw blood in her urine a few times.
