JRT eating too much?

Question:
Hello all,

I have a very active 6 yr old JRT who is 15 lbs and a not-so-active 8 yr old, 40 lb JRT. The 15 lb dog (Lily) seems to be eating more an more lately. She will eat dinner and then try to steal the rest of the other dog's food which is uncommon for her. She will beg for food right after she has eaten (also uncommon). I began to give her a little more food in the last month, since we are still adjusting to a raw diet and I thought that maybe due to her activity levels that she needs slightly more. She doesn't seem to be losing much weight, but on a tiny dog, it's pretty hard to tell. She was recently given a general deworming pill after she ate a squirrel and has terminated one other squirrel since then, but did not eat any of it. Her general health seems to be fine, but I did notice that she seems to be gassing out a bit earlier than normal when we take her for runs.

Any thought on what could be causing this?

Answer:
it's best to let her eat as much as she wants and, in a few weeks, if you see she is gaining weight, you can start to cut back on her food. also better to feed small dogs twice per day. are you following the prey model diet? she should have increased energy & stamina, not less! if you tell me what you are feeding each dog, and how much, i might be able to help you
