I took him to the vet and $300 later she told us that he has an infection and needed to be on meds. he has improved but is still not well.:(

Well, some infections take a good week or two to resolve with antibiotics, so be patient! Must've been swollen lymph glands...hoping he gets to feeling better soon.

Did the vet tell you what type of infection and was it in the lymphatic system?

he is not eating right now , but is drinking so we are holding our breath. The swelling is going down. the fever is still high( 39.8 C) so we are keeping him in as much as possible and helping him stay warm.
