cat nibbling fireplace charcoal???
Question: Hello...my oldest Abby...is currently on antibiotics for pancreatic inflamation and has started chewing little bits of charcoal from in front of the fireplace.... I am wondering if there is something in it she needs and what I can offer her instead of fireplace leftovers.....this is a cat who does not odd things normally so I pay attention when she eats anything out of the ordinary.. She is getting 2 cc's of novamoxicin bid, and is doing great otherwise now... thanks, Kimmee: Answer: That's interesting, sounds like it might be pica. I'd investigate some charcoal alternatives, I wish I could suggest something. I know they give charcoal to people for poisoning/overdose to induce vomiting. [edit] There's an interesting article here:http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz..._activated.jsp I wonder if it's something in the charcoal she wants or just what it does?
