Hello everyone, we have a 8 week old kiten who is very sick and we are trying to diagnose the problem while waiting for our apt. with the vet. She has been vomiting and had dirrhea all morning. She has been eating soft foods only (friskies sea captins choice) After eating last night she laid on the couch and did not get up until morning. This morning I picked her up and she wouldnt move or stand up nad had vommited during the night. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well It could be the cat food.At 8 weeks old,she should be on kitten food.Cat food is way to heavy on the tummy.And maybe you should add a bit of dry to her diet.

I have had my 6 month old kitten since he was 8 weeks old.He is still on kitten food.And we havn't had a problem at all.He is on both can and dry.

Where did you get her?

Also,I would get her into a vet as soon as possible.

This is extremely serious and this kitten needs the vet ASAP!!! Kittens are fragile and can die quite easily. She is probably very dehydrated and needs emergency care. This has nothing to do with food, and may be a serious illness.

Get her to the vet!

I agree,in instances like this,don't bother with an appointment,just go,it's an emergency!!The vet will just have to make time,which he will if he is any good at all..
The kitten could deterioate quickly and die!
Then when or if she is ok,Friskies is probably not great to feed a kitten,by her kitten-food exclusivly,dry and wet.
