I don't know if this should be in this section or possibly in the training section. My dog got neutered on 6 days ago and ever since I brought him home he has been super hyper. He jumps on us non stop, jumps on the screen door, chases our other dog around, and just basically runs around all day and doesn't stop. I was wondering why he would be doing this, he was hyper before, but now it's like 10X as much. Could it be the meds he's taking? I'm giving him Amoxi and some other thing marked Pain (it looks like brown gravy). Will the neutering call him down a bit after all the hormones disappear completely?

None of my male dogs personalities changed after neutering - and calm they were not. BUT since this is only day 6, I guess your dog didn't heed the vet's instructions that he was to keep quiet for 10 days! My Eskie sure didn't.

Although im talking spay here, Nikita did the same thing, She went from a very docile easy going pup to a Hyper, energetic bomb!!!
My theory.... ( only my theory) is that they are happy that they are spayed/neutered no more annoying mating thoughts and hormonal tendancies and so on.
However, if it helps you any, Nikita calmed down a bit after a few days.

Sometimes, sedatives have the opposite effect that they are supposed to... Have you asked the vet if it's normal? My doggies have always gone from groggy to normal, not super hyper...
