Dog stop eating middle of meal
Question: My 2 1/2 year old Lab/Chow mix will occassionally stop eating her meal part way through and lay down right beside her bowl. It's like she has some sort of discomfort (maybe gas) although she does not give any indication of that. We feed her once a day, dry food mixed with half a can of wet food. After a while, she'll go back and finish. This has been going on for a few months. Another question: This week she has not been eating her food when we give it to her. She'll go over to it, walk away, but eat it later on in the evening. We also noticed she is licking her anal area frequently in the last few days. However, she is still the playful and happy dog she normally is. Thanks. Answer: Well my first suggestion would be to get her checked by a vet. Just to rule out anything medical. What is it you are feeding her?The brand of food? My guys feedings are broken down to 3 times a day.And they are 8 years old.But with me,I don't mix the wet with the dry. Answer: Feeding once daily may be the problem You should be feeding two times a day or three. Once is too much to handle all in one meal. Try that and see how it works out. Unless ofcourse there seems to be great discomfort then go to the vet. Answer: I separate my dogs meals to one in the morning & another around 6pm. check on the bag to make sure you're not overfeeding her as well Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
